Accounting professor Husam Abu Khadra

Accounting professor Husam Abu Khadra received a Fulbright U.S. Scholar grant to teach and research in Jordan, beginning Spring 2023.

The Fulbright is the world鈥檚 largest and most diverse international educational exchange program. It offers over 400 awards in more than 130 countries for U.S. citizens to teach, conduct research and carry out professional projects.

鈥淭his award is a testament to Husam鈥檚 scholarly contributions in the field of accounting,鈥 said Ryan Petty, dean of the Heller College of Business. 鈥淭he grant provides a powerful opportunity for him to expand the scope and awareness of his research and bring a global perspective back to 藏精阁 students.鈥

Professor Husam Abu Khadra teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in the Heller College of Business. He will conduct research on Jordanian tax auditors鈥 perceptions of nonprofit governance and its impact on fraud reporting. He will also teach a course in forensic accounting at the American University of Madaba, advising and working with their faculty to improve their accounting program.

Professor Abu Khadra will join the prestigious community of Fulbrighters who have come away with enhanced skills, new connections and greater mutual understanding. He will be the second Fulbrighter from the Heller College of Business, after Gordon Patzer in 2008. He is the 32nd 藏精阁 Fulbrighter since Professor Arthur Hillman received the grant in 1949.
