About Me

Dr. Steven Meyers is a psychologist with extensive experience as an educator, clinician, and researcher for three decades. 

He is Professor and Chair of the Department of Psychology at ²Ø¾«¸ó in Chicago. Meyers has taught thousands of undergraduate and graduate students, developing innovative service learning courses in which students apply classroom knowledge to help others in their communities. His skills have been recognized by seven teaching awards, most notably his selection as the Illinois Professor of the Year by the Carnegie Foundation. His university website can be found at

Meyers has over 250 publications and presentations to his credit in areas that include family and individual well-being, psychological functioning of youth and college students, and effective college teaching practices. 

He is a licensed psychologist with double board certification, and a fellow of the American Psychological Association and several professional societies, with clinical expertise in the diagnosis and comprehensive treatment of ADHD. He is also a financial psychologist, addressing the ways in which finances are intertwined with decision making and well being. 

Meyers has appeared on WBEZ Chicago Public Radio, ABC Chicago Sunday Morning News, and WTTW Chicago Tonight, and has been frequently quoted in articles in the New York Times, Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago Tribune, Time, HuffPo, and many other media outlets.
