  • Sociology and Social Justice

    Dr. Heather Dalmage has written, published and spoken broadly about  racial justice including, multiracialism and global race and whiteness. Dalmage has led multiple courses on Global Race with travel to deep settler nations such as South Africa and Australia. In addition, Dalmage has expertise in education with a focus on juvenile justice, disability and liberatory pedagogy. She serves on the Board of Education for the Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice and has published work about probation, restorative justice, disabilities, and pedagogies for liberation. She is a former Fulbright Scholar to South Africa and (co)authored of four books. Dalmage's emerging interest is in Environmental Justice with focus on Water, Conflict and Gender.

    Dalmage directs Mansfield Institute and the Fellowship for Activism and Community Engagement (FACE). The annual Fellowship builds on critical pedagogy, community building and engagement while providing Fellows an opportunity to learn, dream and create personal and social transformation.
