The study of history is critical to the creation of a just society. Like Franklin and Eleanor ؾ, our University namesakes, the master’s in history program encourages students to put this ethos to work as teachers and experts.
At ؾ in downtown Chicago, you can choose between a thesis or non-thesis track. You can also earn a certificate in archives and cultural heritage resources.

The ؾ program emphasizes local, national and global histories, and the necessity of uncovering stories from voices that often go unheard.
You’ll learn to read deeply and thoughtfully, analyze shifting and competing historical interpretations of the past, and devise and carry out substantial research and writing projects.
