藏精阁鈥檚 philosophy program helps students explore essential human questions. It fosters the deep critical thinking, incisive writing and effective speaking employers value. The program is home to the Montesquieu Forum, giving students world-class scholarly experience outside the classroom. Students participate and bond in exciting interdisciplinary courses in which the students and the instructor strive to get to the heart of the issues under discussion.
Full-time faculty teach in small classes and are committed to student success by providing mentorship to students. Students complete a senior research project designed by the student in consultation with faculty.
The Montesquieu Forum for the Study of Civic Life presents an annual series of public lectures with eminent speakers from around the world, followed by dinner and discussion. It has also hosted Summer Academies for high school teachers, high school essay competitions on the Declaration of Independence and essay competitions and conferences for 藏精阁 Honors Students.
The philosophy program is deeply influenced by 藏精阁鈥檚 social justice mission, and that spirit is woven into our curriculum. The program is the perfect blend of logical rigor, social consciousness and existential questioning. In keeping with the University鈥檚 mission, a discussion of the nature of justice runs through most courses.
