About Me
Originally from the southside of Chicago, I am a paleontologist by training, and I earned my PhD in Geology from Indiana University with an individualized minor in Soil Science. Prior to this, I got my Master's in Geoscience from the University of Iowa and my Bachelor's in Geology from the University of Oregon. I also completed a Career Pathways Certificate in GIS from Lane Community College. I have taught Geology, Biology, and Environmental Science for City Colleges of Chicago, Georgia Southern University, and Georgia State University. Since moving back to Chicago, I have worked as a Data and Research Analyst at Morton College in Cicero; currently I am a Student & Teacher Program Facilitator at Lincoln Park Zoo.
My primary interests are in dinosaur evolution and ecology, and I have visited a variety of museums to gather data, including the Field Museum and the Burpee Museum in Rockford. I also worked for a year as Predoctoral Fellow at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington D.C. I have also participated in a several field trips, including in the Western U.S. and the Dinosaur Park Formation in Alberta.
